Interview with 2026 NFL Draft PROSPECT Javin Wright!
The 2026 NFL Draft is just a few days away, so it’s time to spotlight an under-the-radar draft prospect!
I got the opportunity to sit down with former Nebraska linebacker and 2026 NFL Draft prospect Javin Wright! We talked about his football journey, NFL draft preparations, and a lot more!
Question 1
Sharm: You dealt with a ton of adversity during your time at Nebraska. How did you deal with that adversity?
Javin Wright: I played at Nebraska for seven years. I just kept believing in myself and kept going to accomplish my dreams of making it to the NFL.
Javin signed with Nebraska as a four-star recruit in 2019, being a part of a recruiting class with new Titans WR Wan’Dale Robinson. Javin dealt with a ton of injuries during his tenure with the Cornhuskers, including blood clots, but always rebounded. He tallied 86 tackles, three sacks and an interception in his final season with the Huskers in 2025.
Question 2
Sharm: What will you bring to an NFL team on a week-to-week basis?
Javin Wright: Leadership. I am a personal leader. I motivate the team, and I fit with every scheme due to my versatility. I’m going to bring leadership and integrity every single day.
Wright told me he has been in contact with over 10 NFL teams.
Question 3
Sharm: How was it playing for Matt Rhule at Nebraska?
Javin Wright: [Matt] Rhule was cool. People don’t really know who he is. He’s shallow on the media side, but he helps his players be the best versions of themselves on and off the field. He’s a genius on and off the field. He’s a very personable guy and one of the best coaches I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of coaches.
Question 4
Sharm: Take me through your versatility, as it is one of your biggest selling points to NFL teams.
Javin Wright: I was originally a defensive back out of high school. Switched to linebacker, but never lost that ability to play in the secondary. I can play big nickel, all the backer positions, and safety.
Javin came to Nebraska as a corner, but made the position switch to linebacker in 2023, and has never looked back.
Question 5
Sharm: Tell me who your NFL comparison is, or someone you emulate your game around.
Javin Wright: A mix of Fred Warner and Isaiah Simmons. I’ve grown to emulate my game around Simmons after being coached by Rhule.
At 6-foot-5, Wright is a do-it-all backer who allowed just a 59.4% completion rate in 2025. Javin allowed just two touchdowns in his entire college career.
Question 6
Sharm: Who are some mentors who have helped you along the way in your journey?
Javin Wright: Dicaprio Bootle is one. Deontai Williams took me under his wing when I got to Nebraska. Chancellor Brewington and JoJo Domann are also great friends and mentors.
It hasn’t been easy for Javin Wright, but due to his perseverance and toughness, he’s now in a position to accomplish his dreams of making it to the NFL.
Thank you to Javin for sitting down to speak with me. Make sure you guys follow him on X and Instagram!
